Free nature and purpose
PriviTools is an independent project that provides tools at no cost to help people with documents, data, productivity and development tasks. No payment or subscription is required for features identified as free. The service is a technical aid and does not replace professional review, legal obligations or official validation.
Automated results and verification
Although we test and improve the tools, automated results may contain errors, omissions, formatting differences or information loss. Compare them with the original before signing, filing, sharing, publishing or using them in production or an important decision.
Calculators, validators, extractors, conversions and summaries are not legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical, security or other regulated professional advice. A format or check-digit validation does not prove identity, existence, ownership or official validity.
Responsible use
Use the service lawfully and only with files and content you are entitled to process. Do not use PriviTools to infringe rights, bypass controls, cause harm or carry out unlawful activities.
Local processing and continuity
Tools identified as local process content in the browser. Some features may retain data in localStorage or IndexedDB so you can resume work. This device-local persistence can be deleted and is not a backup. Keep original files and any password needed to recover encrypted information.
Availability and technical changes
Tools are provided in their current state and may have size, format, memory or compatibility limits. We may correct, change, suspend or retire features to maintain security, quality or compatibility.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PriviTools is not liable for losses caused by relying on an output without the necessary review, failing to retain an original or password, or using a tool for a purpose inconsistent with its published limits. Nothing in these terms excludes non-waivable user rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.
Intellectual property
You retain the rights you hold in the content you enter. The site's brand, design, texts and original code belong to PriviTools or are used under applicable licenses. Using a tool does not transfer rights in third-party content.
Changes
We may update these terms to reflect service improvements or legal changes. We will update the published date for substantial changes. Use the contact page for questions or incidents.
